Put the Fellix chat on your website

Add a chat bubble so website visitors can send your business a message. An organization owner can copy the snippet and install it, or give it to the person who manages the website.

Before you start

An organization owner should open Fellix and the editor for your website. You need a website chat and access to edit the pages, or someone who can install the snippet for you.

Steps

  1. In Fellix, open Channels and find Your website chat. If there is no chat bubble, select Create chat bubble.
  2. Open the chat bubble’s menu and select Copy snippet in Website chat code snippet.
  3. Paste the snippet before the closing </body> tag on every page that should show the chat. Publish your site and open a page to check it.

What it can do

Visitors can open the chat on your website and send a message. For example, they can ask about your business.

What it will not do

The snippet only appears on pages where it is installed.

Disconnecting

Remove the snippet from your website pages and publish the changes.

Troubleshooting

If the launcher does not appear, check that the complete snippet is on the published page. The browser console reports [fellix] the embed snippet is missing its data-key attribute if its key is missing.
